Chain filing can make or break you
in many ways. Dull or poorly filed saws are inefficient and dangerous. They wear
out quicker, and so do you if you try to force them to work. They can also
create reactive forces that cause the saw to kickback. A properly filed chain
cuts better, making the saw easier to handle and safer to operate. It also lets
you perform techniques such as the Bore Cut, an important part of the Game of
Logging and CLP felling method.

filing applications. However, check with the manufacturer's specification for
the proper tools, angles and depths for filing.
